The Library, University of Moratuwa has strengthen its collection in many distinct subject areas by including most valuable materials to different collections of the library. Many of the key collections are highlighted below and can be accessed through OPAC.

Lending Collection
This collection consists of print materials and electronic resources on various subjects. All registered library members of the University are allowed to borrow from this collection. |
Reference Collection
The reference collection contains a wide variety of permanent reference materials such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, data books, manuals etc. This collection is housed on the First Floor of the library and is available for reference only. |

Periodical Collection
This contains both current and back issues of periodicals including major indexing and abstracting journals. Periodical Division provides seating accommodation for 60 readers. This is housed on the 1stfloor of the Library. |
Standard Collection
Sri Lanka Standards (SLS), the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) Standards and the British Standards (BS) reference manuals are available on the 1stfloor of the Library and are available for reference only. |

Theses & Dissertation Collection
The library holds the copies of all higher degree theses and dissertations completed by PhD, MPhil, MSc, MEngand MBA students of the UOM. This collection is held on the 1st floor of the library and is available for reference only. |
Sri Lanka Collection
This collection holds materials on subjects relevant to Sri Lanka. This collection is available for reference only. SLC is housed on the 1st floor of the library. |

Map Collection
This collection contains the maps pertaining to Sri Lanka Roads, Towns, Geography etc. and is available for reference only. |
Multimedia Collection
Various multimedia materials on academic, cultural, art and documentary fields are housed in the User Education Unit for screening on demand. Copies of such materials are available in the lending library for borrowing. |

Diandas Collection
Diandas collection consists of 8000 books, conference proceedings, reports etc. and 7000 journals related to transport and highways. The collection was donated by the late Mr. John Diandas. The collection is available in the ground floor. |
Newspaper Collection
Daily newspapers such as The Island, Divaina, Lankadeepaetc. are available on the first floor and for reference only. |

Archival Collection
All materials such as handbooks, by-laws, conference proceedings, prospectus etc. published by the University of Moratuwa are included in this collection. This is housed on the First Floor and is available for reference only. |
Medical Collection
Medical collection contains a wide variety of text books related to the field of Medicine. This collection is housed on the First Floor of the library and is available for reference only. |
