The Library is delighted to announce that Mr. Nishan Punchihewa has been promoted to the post of Deputy Librarian, with effect from March 2025.
Having joined the University of Moratuwa in 2003, he has rendered over two decades of dedicated and valuable service to the Library. He has played a key role in introducing the Koha Open-Source Integrated Library System and in developing the UoM Institutional Repository, significantly enhancing access to library resources and services.
Mr. Punchihewa holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (2008) and a Bachelor of Science (1998), both from the University of Colombo. He is a Chartered Librarian and an Associate Member of the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA).
We warmly congratulate him and wish him every success in this well-deserved new role.
