Library, University of Moratuwa pioneered in delivering state of art facilities for its users to promote teaching, learning and research. Along with promoting e-resources and services, Library moved step further by organizing the Author Workshop with world renowned publisher Elsevier who brings ScieneDirect and Scopus to UoM.
Author workshop was held on 30th May, 2017 in Library Auditorium with the presence of distinguished guests, academic staff members and research students. Explaining the objectives of the Author Workshop, Mr. Nishan Punchihewa welcomed the gathering. Prof. (Mrs.) Dileeka Dias, Dean Faculty of Graduate Studies highlighted the necessity of further improving the research culture at UoM in spite of obstacles and difficulties and also she pointed out the opportunities provided by the university to promote research.
The resource person of the workshop was Dr. Sangeeta Mehta Director RSS Books, South Asia of Elsevier and she made a presentation on "Scholarly publishing" focusing the participants' attention on publishing cycle of research articles as well as associated challenges in accepting and rejecting of the research publications at Elsevier.
