Varuna de Silva, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture participated in the prestigious 2015 Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class held in Sydney, Australia from 5-19th July 2015. He was the first ever participant from Sri Lanka and was awarded a 50% scholarship as a worthy applicant.
The Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class is a major annual event on the international architecture calendar. Commenced in 2001, it is a residential studio based programme. Recipient of the 2002 Pritzker Architecture Prize (the ‘Nobel’ Prize of Architecture), internationally renowned architect Glenn Murcutt leads the Master Class.
The intensive two-week programme, associated lectures and supporting events equate to 150 hours of high-level study at postgraduate level. Professional institutions and universities internationally have accepted this event as gaining professional development or academic credit points.
