The 37th General Convocation of the University of Moratuwa was held on 25th of August, 2016 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) for the conferment of Degrees of the University of Moratuwa. The Convocation was held in 03 sessions. The Chancellor of the University, VidyaJyothi Professor Emeritus KKYW Perera, conferred the Degrees at the Convocation.
Forty three graduands from Department of Earth Resources Engineering were presented before the Chancellor for the Conferment of the Honours Degree of Bachelor of the Science of Engineering specialized in Earth Resources Engineering.
P.G. Nishadi Nayanthara of Batch 11 was awarded the Gold medal for the Earth Resources Engineering graduand who has obtained the highest overall Grade Point Average of 3.8 or above at the B.Sc. Engineering Honours Degree examinations, donated by Geological Survey & Mines Bureau. The graduands and their parents, distinguished invitees, academic and administrative staff of the University participated to the event.
