This course is jointly conducted by Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments of the University of Moratuwa. This course aims to provide a broad based advanced knowledge in technological areas related to building services with focus on the development of certain skills in design and operation and also to enable to embark on research.
The lectures are carried out by expert members of academic staff and the industry. Our aim is to educate industrially orientated professionals with fi rm theoretical understanding and profound expertise in the fi eld of building services engineering. This course is accredited by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), UK.

Postgraduate Diploma – Year 1

PG diploma work will encompass around 700 hours of lectures, assignments, term papers, seminars, field visits and a special study project on building services. The performance of the students will be evaluated through continuous assessment and written examinations.
Entry Requirements:
An honours degree of the bachelor of science of engineering or any other engineering degree at least four years of duration with civil, electrical or mechanical specialty from a recognised university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience in the field of building services engineering;
OR
Any other engineering degree of at least three years of duration with civil, electrical or mechanical specialty from a recognised university with a minimum of two years of relevant
experience in the field of building services engineering;
OR
Any other degree in a relevant field accepted by the Faculty and approved by the Senate with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field of building services engineering;
OR
The corporate membership, graduateship (as appropriate) or equivalent of a recognised professional institute in a relevant field acceptable to the Faculty and approved by the Senate,
and at least three years of relevant experience after having obtained the membership. The relevant experience in the field shall be determined by the Faculty and approved by the
Senate for all cases.
Msc – Years 1 & 2
PG Dip (in Year 1) and Research Project (in Year 2)
Only the students who complete the PG diploma successfully will be permitted to continue with the Degree of Master of Science
Duration:
PG Dip: One year Twelve months part-time (Fridays and Saturdays)
Master of Science: Two years
PG Diploma+Twelve months part-time and Masters Research Project
